I thought it was gone forever. Now my change can rest in peace.

Bonus, for those of you that complain about crappy cupholders in your cars. Keep in mind that this car was nearly nearly $60,000 in 1995 (or nearly $80,000 in today’s money).

They aren’t even an actual part of the car.

4.5 years and my appointment in 4 weeks is when they’re going to tell me about getting them off. Also, I love how they say “recieve a blow in the face”.

What if you receive a blow to the face with candy, gum, or popcorn? Is that worse, or better?

you do know that cup holders is an american thing.

Distracted driving is an american invention.

Fast food distracted driving. We can arguably blame cell phone distracted driving on northern Europe and Japan.

Is that supposed to be an ashtray? Or did BMW add a removable container made solely for change?

Also, the cupholder thing is kind of funny - I would have thought on a car of that price, they could engineer something sleek like the cup holders that are in Phaetons.

It’s actual, intended purpose is as a change holder. It’s even padded, so the change doesn’t make a bunch of noise.

But this is a car made for America. Plus drinks =/= distracted driving. I don’t drink while I drive, but I do get food+drinks and drive home with them. I’m more distracted by having to make sure the drink doesn’t fall over when it’s sitting on the center console.

That’s actually really cool, I also like the fact that it’s divided up so you can even sort the change (especially important in Canada/Europe where there are a lot more change pieces, like 1 and 2 dollar/euro coins which the US doesn’t use regularly). My Hyundai only has an ashtray which is used exclusively for change and it can be frustrating when you're trying to fish a couple of quarters from the bottom of the container with piles of nickels/dimes on top of it.

The concept of eating and drinking while driving is definitely a US thing. In Europe it is quite foreign...
